Tracking

How Tracking Works

Quite simply if you can access the Internet you can track your vehicles. A concealed unit installed in the vehicle collects, via sophisticated GPS satellite technology, detailed data all about the journeys that your vehicles undertake – routes, mileages, locations visited, speeds, times and even driver ID and transmits that data back via the Internet so that you can see exactly, by detailed reporting and mapping where your vehicle is and, importantly, where it has been – for the whole of the last year if you need it.

A New Breed

Road Angel Fleet's solutions integrate technology, processes and expertise to produce a new breed of low cost, powerful, user friendly fleet management system.

Sophisticated Technology

Using GPRS, GSM, GPS and sophisticated computer functionality as enabling technologies, Road Angel Fleet provides fleet managers with the ability to control and manage their mobile workforce, achieve productivity gains and reduce costs.

Automated Data Capture

With Road Angel Fleet comprehensive vehicle data can be gathered and communicated between mobile and fixed assets using wireless communications protocols. Data is then processed to provide detailed information in a usable format within a graphic, user-friendly interface.

Mapping & Imagery

This is integrated with digital mapping, satellite imagery and a range of powerful computer conversion and enabling tools to deliver effective event reporting and management capabilities.

Benefits For Your Company

Quite simply fleet tracking gives you back control of your vehicles and provides information which allows you to maximise vehicle and driver utilisation and efficiency whilst minimising unnecessary journeys, mileages and even overtime claims and so reduces fuel costs, wear and tear and wages bills whilst enabling greater productivity and enhanced bottom line profit.

Some of the Main Benefits

  • Always know the current location and status of each vehicle
  • Be able to divert nearest and most appropriate crew to urgent job
  • Instant Job & time sheet information enables users to see whether jobs were scheduled efficiently
  • Time sheet information evidences exactly arrival time on site, length of time on site, travelling time to site, mileage to site to ensure cost effective deployment, evidence working hours and agree overtime.
  • Route replay facility allows managers to see exactly how each journey was driven - highlighting efficiency of routing, speeds, idling times and time down the journey
  • 'Watch me drive' facility provides ability to monitor vehicles as they travel 'minute by minute' to ensure driver security in difficult situations or locations and to talk the driver in to a location where they are finding difficulty in finding an address.

Provides all Management KPI's

  • Vehicle utilisation information
  • Crew utilisation information
  • Evidences hours worked
  • Agree overtime claims
  • Identify driver in event of speeding, parking or other penalty event
  • View response times to urgent jobs
  • Instantly view frequency of visit to any site or address
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained to schedule
  • View and monitor fleet carbon footprint
  • Monitor fuel usage against mileage (miles per gallon, pence per mile)

Health & Safety

Regulatory attitude now also obliges vehicle operators to carefully monitor driver hours. Even though there is direct legislation for non-HGV drivers regarding driver hours, it is considered to be the employers responsibility to ensure that drivers, like any employee, operate within a safe environment, and do not drive for excessive periods of time and do take sufficient breaks.

Managing occupational road risk by reducing speeding and fatigue – the two proven greatest causes of road accident fatalities - is an obligation which HSE places on Operators.

The operation of an efficient vehicle and asset management system will afford both the employer and the employee protection by offering evidence to prevent wrongful prosecution.

Duty of Care Legislation

Quite simply the only real way that a company's management can ensure compliance with ever more onerous vehicle and operator legislation is by having the relevant data at their fingertips and, if ever called to do so, can evidence that they operate a safe, caring operation which takes seriously the welfare of their mobile workforce. Utilising a cost effective vehicle management system is the easiest and also most effective method of ensuring that your company is in control.

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 came into force on April 6, 2008. The law introduces an offence of corporate manslaughter in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and corporate homicide in Scotland. Full Wording of the Act can be found on the Office of Public Sector Information Website.

Senior Management Accountable

Prior to April 6, 2008 it was very difficult to pin-point senior management, especially in large organisations, who directly contributed by way of management failure to the death of an employee. The effect was that while an individual crane operator, for example, could find him or herself liable for manslaughter, senior management who were aware of shortcomings within their safety systems escaped prosecution. The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 has changed this.

Duty of Care to Employees

Senior management of organisations now owe a relevant duty of care to employees or persons performing services for it. Where a corporate culture exists that allows dangerous practices to go unchallenged and a death or deaths result, these organisations and it's senior management will find themselves liable.

Heavy Penalties

Companies can be fined a minimum of 5% of annual turnover for any gross breach that leads to the death of an employee. Find out more by visiting The Crown Prosecution Service Website.

Road Angel Fleet Can Help

A Road Angel Fleet system is a cost effective way of managing your mobile assets, with automated data capture providing information on vehicle usage, servicing schedules, driver behaviour, journey reporting, incident reporting, and other information required ensuring you are compliant.

Carbon Reduction

Quite simply the only way that a fleet operator can reduce their vehicle fleets' Co2 emissions and their company's carbon footprint is by reducing mileage, curbing inappropriate driving habits and minimising wasteful engine idling and therefore reducing the amount of fuel being burnt. Attempting this is almost impossible without having the means at your disposal of monitoring these events. Vehicle fleet tracking is that means.

Corporate Travel a Major Contributor

CO2 emissions from corporate travel (specifically fleets and air travel) can account for over 25% of a company's carbon 'footprint'.

Emissions from travel are very 'visible' to staff, investors and customers so are often linked to the perceived environmental impact of a business. It's an obvious area for companies to target reductions. It's also an opportunity for a pro-active solutions provider such as Road Angel Fleet to offer a lower carbon travel service to corporate clients and fleet providers.

Intelligent Carbon Calculator

Through our intelligent Carbon Footprint Calculator we can help companies quantify the emissions associated with their fleet travel, identify and target areas such as distances travelled, average speeds & driver behavior and overall reduce the amount of CO2 emissions produced.

Easily Off-Set Carbon Usage

Additionally, through a partnership with The CarbonNeutral Company, Road Angel Fleet can help clients to reduce the carbon emissions associated with the fleet to net zero by offsetting the residual amount of CO2. Carbon Credits can be purchased through Road Angel Fleet, which in-turn will be invested in renewable energy schemes.

Reduce Your Impact

Companies using this service can communicate that their company's carbon footprint has been reduced to net zero by displaying the CarbonNeutral fleet brandmark. This is a powerful way to communicate to all stakeholders that your company is actively reducing its impact on the climate.

Carbon offset projects include energy efficiency, renewable energy and methane capture. Funds generated are invested in projects that would not otherwise have existed without Carbon Credit schemes.

Communicate

Companies using this service can communicate that their company’s carbon footprint has been reduced to net zero by displaying the CarbonNeutral fleet brand-mark. This is a powerful way to communicate to all stakeholders that your company is actively reducing its impact on the climate.
